Dude!!
hehe…we’ve all heard it, probably all used it at some point or another (some more than others) but what I know you are ALL dying to know is, what does it REALLY mean. Ok, so maybe not, but I thought this was pretty comical. Check out wiki’s definition of ‘Dude’:

The term “dude” is an American English slang word used informally to address a male individual. The word may also be used in the same manner for a female[1] as its counterpart, ‘Dudette.[citation needed] Sometimes people still use dudette but it has fallen out of trend. In informal speech, many young people use the word “dude” freely.[citation needed] “Dude” may also be used alone in a sentence, serving as an exclamation; denoting a feeling of surprise, happiness, disappointment, amazement or other emotions.[2] The word might also be used practically anywhere in a sentence in order to convey such sentiments in conversation.
Other, older definitions of dude exist; a particularly well-dressed male or one who is unfamiliar with life outside a large city. These definitions may go hand-in-hand, hence the phrased definition “An Easterner in the West” (United States).[3]
