Finishing continues…

Well, we’re getting down to the line. No real answer if we’ll actually be done by closing (Aug 27th) but here’s to hoping…

Most of the light fixtures are up except the ones that have been back ordered. Trim work is done, which, I might add, I love! Thank goodness for contractors that keep up with the trends! What do we have left? Well….still no stairs on the deck leading to the front door, cement pad poured at back door, garage is not drywalled, a couple more wires to pull for light fixture mix ups, counter tops – which then leads to sinks and toilets…much less paint touch up and clean up. Oh ya…and appliance installation. So….keep your fingers crossed that miracles can happen in 2 weeks!

Retaining wall starts!

The backhoe finally arrived! It’s a big sloppy mess in front of our house now, but no complaining; The retaining wall has officially arrived! AND! It would seem we WILL have some semblance of a yard. As you’ll see, they’ve flattened and filled everything around the house, and rumour has it, they’ll be seeding it! (Guess that means we need to work a lawn mower into the budget now…) As for the interior, the flooring is pretty much all done except the halls and stairs (high traffic areas last), the cabinets are mostly in and they started hanging doors yesterday. The electricians were over and started putting in switches and plugs. More pictures in the album of all this!
